If you simply want to mount your webcam in front of you, perhaps in the middle of a screen you can use our thin (10mm diameter) SCP-GN18ML Medium-Light Duty flexible gooseneck arm:
The Megaclamp worked well as he could easily it attach it to desks and tables wherever he was staying. The Megaclamp can attach to flat objects between 3/8" up to 2-5/8" thick.
We don't have information on his portable monitor, however the 18" Super-Duty flexible gooseneck arm can support up to 2-1/2 lbs in the weakest orientation (horizontal) without bending. As shown oriented vertically in the picture above it can support much more weight.
This particular portable monitor is "tripod ready" which means it can attach to a standard 1/4"-20 tripod mount or our Camera Ball Head:
The Camera Ball Head can tilt up to 90 degree. Given the flexibility of our gooseneck arms you can pretty much position your portable monitor wherever you want.

You spoke and we listened. This new smartphone bracket features a durable rubber backing and side grips - no more foam padding. Similar to the old bracket, simply press the buttons and the spring-loaded side arms pop open. Insert your cell phone and squeeze the arms together for a firm grip.
The second improvement is how the smartphone mount is attached to our flexible gooseneck arms. No more screws and washers! We have introduced a new "B17" ball that simply screws into the gooseneck:
The back of the Smartphone Mount 2 features a socket for accepting the 17mm ball. This arrangement allows you to tilt, swivel and rotate your phone to a portrait or landscape orientation. After placing your phone exactly where you want it simply tighten the locking collar:
Our 18" Medium-Light Duty flexible gooseneck arm is ideal for supporting lightweight cell phones - it is both strong and very easy to bend - giving you full control of placing your device exactly where you want it.
Zoom meetings, FaceTime, live streaming, vlogging - the iPhone & Smartphone SnakeClamp is the ideal solution. With our 8 mounting base options you attach it to anything. Here is a sample configuration shown with our new Smartphone Mount 2, 18" medium-light duty flexible gooseneck arm and 6" x 6" square steel base.

These arms are awesome!
They fit perfectly on our laser stand.
Our laser company "Erchonia Laser" has discontinued providing the arms, and I accidentally found your company.

While we have offered flexible gooseneck arm magnifiers for many years, our new in-house design is a much improved tough, durable, professional-quality product designed and assembled in the USA. We offer these magnifying glasses with two grades of glass lenses - colorless or economy with a light green tint. The clear lenses are available in magnifications of 3x, 8x, 10 and 15x and the economy lenses are available in 2.5x, 3x, 8x and 10x power.
Here is a comparison of the different lens powers:
All of our glass lenses are 5" diameter, however the field of view is reduced to 4.6" due to the width of the glass fiber-reinforced nylon frame. Each magnifier frame includes a 3/8"-24 threaded stud for attaching to either a flexible gooseneck arm, our proprietary Flexwire waterproof arm, or a black anodized aluminum handle. The handle can be easily unscrewed for attaching the magnifier to a flexible arm stand.
While our economy glass magnifying lenses have a light green tint, our colorless lenses do not. We recommend our colorless lenses for applications where you need to see the true color of an object, such as when examining gemstones. Here is a comparison between our colorless and economy magnifying lenses:
We always like to point our that our products are the most versatile on the market - magnifying glasses included - because we offer so many flexible arm and mounting base options. You can build your own magnifying glass stand by mounting a magnifying glass on one of our many flexible arms between 9" and 24" long; and choose from many of our mounting base options including our table clamp, megaclamp, plate mount, angle mount, round base, square base, magnet base and suction cup.
Here is a picture of the handle removed from the magnifying glass frame:

This VESA plate offers a 50, 75 and 100 mm VESA hole pattern and includes four #8-32 screws with lock nuts. Also included are a 3/8" stainless steel screw, flat washers and a spring washer for attaching to SnakeClamp brand flexible gooseneck or rigid arms. The spring washer arrangement keeps tension on the VESA plate which allows you to rotate it as desired.
Please check our flexible gooseneck arm Load Capacity chart to determine which of our products can support your device. Our strongest flexible gooseneck tube can support lightweight monitors and other devices up to 2-1/2 lbs.
Note that you can also attach devices WITHOUT a VESA hole pattern with commonly available VESA Universal Mount kits.
The VESA Mounting Plate is fabricated from sturdy 3/8" thick ABS plastic.

While the lamp head is not ours, these were made with our Square Base, 12" Rigid Arm and 24" Flexible Gooseneck Arms. To allow for internal wiring our Lamp Nipples were also used.
Here is another view:
Note that our Square Base does not come with mounting holes (but our smaller Plate Mount does), so obviously if you want to build your own custom reading lamps you will need some basic metalworking skills!
These custom lamps just look awesome! If you have pictures of your project built with SnakeClamp components please send them to support @ snakeclamp.com so that we can inspire others to build cool stuff.
]]>Shown here is our 18" Super-Duty flexible gooseneck arm attached to a desk with our Table Clamp. The microphone is supported with our Microphone Clip attachment (which includes a threaded mic adapter).
In our customer's own words:
I’m using my snakeclamp for my microphone which I use while gaming. Previously I had a microphone arm that took up a large amount of desk space and was awkwardly placed. The snakeclamp is a massive improvement and feels very solid! Thanks for making a quality product, my pictures are attached.
Here's a close-up of the microphone in the microphone clip:
In addition to the flexible gooseneck, the mic clip can also be tilted up and down.
Gaming has become very popular these days and if you want to be at the top of your game you will want a quality microphone stand. What makes SnakeClamp unique is the many flexible gooseneck tube and mounting base options. We likely have a solution to hold your microphone exactly where you need it. ]]>This is a VILTROX L116T CRI95+ Super Slim Dimmable LED Light Panel,Bi-Color 3300K-5600K LED Video Light with LCD Control/Light Mount available at Amazon.
Our customer built this task/project light using our Round Weighted Base, 24" Heavy-Duty Gooseneck Tube Arm and Camera Ball Head. The VILTROX L116T has a variable brightness/color light and is great anywhere you need bright, high-quality lighting.
If you watch the Adam Savage video you will see that the Loc-Line flexible arm material isn't all that strong. That's why he had to install aluminum armature wire to stiffen it up. Not a problem with our 24" flexible gooseneck arms - it supports up to 1-3/4 pounds without sagging! And if you need extra reach you can always splice it onto one or more of our 12" Rigid Arms.
If you have built something with SnakeClamp components please send us some pictures and you may provide some inspiration to others!
]]>This monitor has a standard 1/4"-20 tripod thread on the back so it can easily be attached to our Camera Ball Head. An added benefit of our ball head is that you can tilt (up to 90 degrees) and swivel it in combination with the flexibility of our gooseneck tube arms. The monitor is shown here supported by our 18" Heavy-Duty Flexible Gooseneck in black.
This customer chose our Megaclamp mounting base option which can attach to either a round object such as a pipe or railing or a flat object such as shown here:
Additionally the Megaclamp has two mounting holes so that the flexible gooseneck arm can be attached either to the top or the side depending on your requirements.
UPDATE: Another customer duplicated this setup and discovered that at 2.33 lbs the monitor is a little too heavy for the 18" Heavy-Duty flexible gooseneck. This monitor actually requires our 18" Super-Duty gooseneck which can support 2-1/2 lbs.
]]>Here is a Double Clamp SnakeClamp supporting a suction device:
Unfortunately there are many different dental chair brands and arrangements, so you will have to choose the attachments, flexible gooseneck tubes and mounting bases to best fit your situation. One size does not fit all. Some customers have used our Microphone Clips to support their suction devices or evacuation funnels while others prefer our 3 Finger Clamp.
Here a SnakeClamp Table Clamp, 24" flexible gooseneck arm and 3 Finger Clamp are used to support a high volume evacuation suction device that is meant to reduce aerosol. This frees up the hygienist so that they can use both hands for treatment:
While we don't recommend splicing flexible gooseneck tubes together because they don't support very much weight, we did have several dentists do that. This one also happens to be very mechanically inclined and created his own suction holder device and figured out a way to attach directly to his chair! In his own words "The heavy duty goosenecks are perfect for positioning and stability."
Here we have another dentist that is very happy with his setup:
I equipped six treatment rooms with your products, they worked great to keep vacuum lines in place!! Thank you for making these wonderful products, they look absolutely professional. My staff really loves it and appreciate the safety that my creation is providing them.
He used two 24" flexible gooseneck arms splice together with our 1" threaded stud and mounted on our super-strong magnet base. The 3 Finger Clamp is supporting the vacuum lines.
In this example a dentist was able to support his evacuation hose to a nearby tabletop using our table clamp, 18" light-duty flexible gooseneck and microphone clip:
In this example a dentist drilled larger holes in our Angle Mount and attached it to his equipment using u-bolts:
And here is the other end showing a suction device being held by our Microphone Clip:
Note also that the flexible gooseneck arm above has been coated with a clear heat-shrink material for easy cleaning. More info on this below.
Some customers have inquired about "cleanable" coverings for the flexible gooseneck tubes. While we can do that for you it would be a custom order with a minimum order quantity of 250-500 units. We have two other recommendations:
Should you need any assistance in finding a "third hand" flexible arm solution for holding protective shields, suction devices or high volume evacuation systems in your dental environment please call us or send an email.
]]>Shown is our 18" medium-light duty flexible gooseneck arm which is great for lightweight webcams. It can support 1/3 lb. without bending. Attached to the end of the flexible gooseneck tube is our stainless steel Camera Mount Adapter.

This custom fixture was made from a 14' long piece of driftwood found on the shores of Lake Huron. Although our flexible gooseneck tubes have female threaded end adapters, you can use our lamp nipples so that you can pull wires through and attach the gooseneck with a nut.

]]>"Black walnut wood dust is extremely toxic to woodworkers' lungs. Since I would be producing very fine dust doing the finish carving with a rotary tool, I wanted an additional vacuum source as close as possible to the carving bit on the log in the photo. As you can see, I already have a general dust collector. But I also wanted something I could easily position and re-position depending on exactly where I was using the rotary carving tool (not pictured). The SnakeClamp products provided the means to build one."
In this setup the customer utilized our steel Plate Mount for attaching his flexible gooseneck to a piece of wood. Then a 90 Degree Angle Adapter is used to "hang" the 3 Finger Clamp and suspend the vacuum hose below.
Here is a close up look at how the versatile 3 Finger Clamp is attached to the vacuum hose:
The 90 Degree Angle Adapter usually connects a flexible gooseneck arm with our Rigid Arm, but in this case the customer chose to attach it directly to the 3 Finger Clamp. This required our 2" long Coupling to do that because both the 90 Degree Angle Adapter and 3 Finger Clamp have male threads.
Here is another look at the vacuum system which utilizes our 18" Super Duty flexible gooseneck arm:
Thank you to SL for sending us these pictures! If you have a unique application for mounting and positioning things on a flexible gooseneck arm please send them to us so that we may share them with the world.
]]>Flexwire took several years of development and testing. The result is a very strong and waterproof flexible arm product that can be used for the mounting and positioning of items including in harsh environments. Some examples include cameras, scanners and sensors in factories exposed to high humidity or chemicals; electronics in saltwater marine environments; or security cameras exposed to weather.
Flexwire is made with a solid #1 gauge copper wire inserted into a durable PVC tube with an outside diameter of 16mm.
Each end adapter features 3/8"-24 (fine) threads, slot cuts for tightening with a wrench and a set screw. These are machined from type 303 stainless steel and crimped onto the copper wire with a 50 Ton press.
Unlike our flexible gooseneck tubes, Flexwire is ideally suited to applications where frequent positioning is not required. This is because Flexwire is quite strong and difficult to bend. Therefore it can support more weight than our flexible gooseneck tubes as shown on this chart:
Another great feature of Flexwire is that you can choose any length between 6" and 30". This is because Flexwire is made to order right here in our Christiansburg, Virginia shop. The copper wire and PVC tubing is also made in the USA.
For more information about this exciting new product including a demonstration video, check out our Flexwire product page. If you have any questions about Flexwire please email support @ snakeclamp.com.

We visited recently with a longtime SnakeClamp customer in Charleston, SC who uses an iPad SnakeClamp to attach his iPad to an Invacare TDX SP2 power wheelchair. The purpose of the visit was to get a first hand look at the powerchair and determine if the SnakeClamp could be permanently attached to the chair. The powerchair supplier - Bobby Bryant from PHC Health - also joined us.
One of the features of the TDX SP2 is the ability of the chair to tilt back from the base. So we did not want to attach the SnakeClamp to the base, but rather to the chair itself so that it would also move when the chair was tilted back. Then the iPad would always be in the same position relative to the user.
Invacare TDX SP2 Power Wheelchair
While looking over the chair we discovered a T-slot on the side of the chair which is used to attach various components such as side rails. Bobby had a sample t-nut which we inserted into the slot for testing.
The T-Slot bar on the side of the TDX SP2 chair
After some tinkering we came up with the idea of inserting a 3/8" button-head screw into the slot, along with an internal-tooth washer to prevent rotation.
3/8" button-head screw inserted into t-slot
On the outside of the t-slot we installed a SnakeClamp coupling (SCP-CPL) which has slot cuts for tightening. With the internal-tooth lockwasher on the inside of the slot we were able to tighten the assembly without any slipping.
We then attached a SnakeClamp 90 Degree Angle Adapter (SCP-90) and Quick Disconnect (SCP-QD). The Quick Disconnect is optional, but this allows the customer to quickly remove the entire SnakeClamp flexible arm and iPad from the chair with a quick push and twist.
SnakeClamp coupling, 90 degree angle adapter and quick disconnect
It is important to insert the appropriate washers to lock the components together so we put together an illustration:
The end result is a happy customer. Shown is the 18" Super Duty flexible gooseneck arm and Extra Large Adjustable Tablet Mount.
Thank you to Reynaldo Acosta for inviting us into his home and for the technical assistance of Bobby Bryant.
UPDATE 5/20/19 - we have added a "Powerchair Hardware Pack" that includes all of the hardware shown in the picture. This does not include the Quick Disconnect, which is optional and can be purchased separately.

]]>Customers have long asked us for a thinner, lighter flexible gooseneck tube for applications that don't support much weight (such as LED lighting). This new design is also an excellent option for our precision Micro Clamps. This new design is 18" long and features our same 3/8"-24 female threaded adapters on each end. Each adapter also comes with a 4mm set screw and allen wrench.
This flexible gooseneck tube features a durable chrome-plated finish. It weighs in at 5.5 ounces and has an outside diameter of 8mm. The inside diameter is 9/64". Mounted horizontally (the weakest orientation) it can support 2 ounces without bending. However it is stronger in other orientations.
Here we have combined our Micro Clamp with the 18" Very Light-Duty flexible gooseneck tube and our Round Base. The Round Base is also available with 2 or 3 mounting holes.

Our mirrors are offered in 3 sizes: 6-1/4" round, 8-1/2" round and 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" rectangular. The round mirrors are convex, which means that they are curved outward which provides a wider field of view. Similar to mirrors in automobiles, they make the objects look farther away than they actually are. The rectangular mirror is flat, so the object appears exactly as is.
8-1/2" Round convex mirror
6-1/4" Round convex mirror
The 6-1/4" round and rectangular mirrors attach to our line of flexible gooseneck tubes with an integral stainless steel adapter. The 8-1/2" round mirror includes a stainless steel bracket, screw and washer for attaching to the flexible gooseneck arm.
Attaching a mirror to a flexible gooseneck arm has all kinds of applications. For example it can give you a view of a tight workspace; or allow you to see around a corner. The possibilities are endless - in fact this product was designed at the request of a SnakeClamp customer.
With all of our flexible gooseneck tube designs and mounting base options, nobody offers as many options as the Mirror SnakeClamp. Build yours today!
]]>With this additional attachment hole the Table Clamp can be used, for example, to attach a flexible gooseneck arm vertically from a bed headboard, vertical bed frame, etc. Each hole has a rubber pad to protect your attachment surface.
