The iPad & Tablet Cobra Clamp features 3 adjustable aluminum arms that lock together to position your iPad, tablet or eReader. Each arm is approximately 12" long and provides rotation in two dimensions. Ratcheted tooth design securely locks joints into place. Use either two or three arms for a reach of up to 3 feet. One arm includes a locking ball-and-swivel joint with a four-point adapter. The four-point adapter securely snaps onto your attachment. You can rotate your iPad/tablet/eReader by loosening the thumb turn and then re-tightening. The iPad & Tablet Cobra Clamp includes a black-painted metal table clamp that attaches to any desk, table, bed headboard, etc. between 1/4" and 2-3/8" thick. Non-slip rubber grips protect finished surfaces.

Extra Large Adjustable Tablet PC device mounting bracket. Fits tablets between 10-1/2" to 16-1/2" (measured diagonally). Features feature soft rubber bumpers that are spring-loaded to securely grab your device. Simply pull the two rubber bumpers apart and slip your tablet in between. Accommodates tablets with or without cases/sleeves or covers up to 1/2" thick.

Unstable as manufactured

While many mechanisms of this arm work very well (the clamp, the joints, etc.), a major issue is that the metal bars aren't tightly seated in the black plastic parts, so even with everything tightened, the arm still wobbles and droops to the point where it was effectively useless for me. I can see some uses where this arm would still work really well, but I was generally disappointed.

Finally found one that works for me

I've been dealing with health problems that include orthostatic intolerance, which means I have to be horizontal quite a lot. This is the third try for me to have an arm that is sturdy, but easily adjustable and holds my tablet securely in any orientation.
I am so glad that I stumbled onto this site, I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Just what I needed

I needed a pad holder to complement my home cockpit. Important mission data is now at my finger tips replacing the sticky notes on my monitors.

Works for drawing on ipad

I was in search for an adjustable holder to secure my iPad Pro 10.5 inch in an ergonomic position while drawing with the Apple pen. I am using this on my boat, and have yet to try it to hold the iPad while underway, but I intend to use it for navigation as well.

Using the three included segments allows some jiggling with use, such as typing now, though neither angle is acute it still feels secure. The ball swivel for holding the diagonal brace allows quick changes in screen orientation.

The rubber padding that comes in the vise mounting mechanism seems appropriate for most surfaces, and the toggle handle for tightening the vise is actually pleasant to use. The ball bearing style end caps are large and don’t dig into my hand when tightening securely as with many small vises.

I knew when purchasing this arm/holder I would find a need to upgrade or simply to get another, but that this was the brand to choose and the model to start with. I look forward to upgrading to the outdoor appropriate wire arm that I think might have a more organic adjustment process, but as it is, my skills using antique tripods are coming in handy to learn how to quickly adjust the arm for various needs.

Well thought out design, seems to be good quality components. My friend was jealous when he saw it and agreed it seems worth the money considering what it’s holding and the value of good ergonomics!

Finally found something that works

I’ve spent the last year or so trying to find a device that I can mount my iPad on for reading sheet music. Every device I tried had issues. The primary issue was not providing enough adjustment possibilities to allow me to position my IPad exactly where I wanted it. The Cobra Clamp solved this issue. The Cobra Clamp has an infinite amount of adjustment possibilities. It works perfectly and is very secure.
